Bio-Diversitree, in partnership with Sabi Sand Nature Reserve & conserv.earth installed a 34 kilometer pangolin protection fence. This specialised fence was erected to ensure that pangolins, as well as other small (and big) wildlife species don't get caught in the reserve's electrified tripwire.

Bio-Diversitree was instrumental in the design, construction and erection of specialised quarantine and adaptation enclosures for Verraux’s eagles on Dabchick Wildlife Reserve. These eagles are classified as vulnerable on the Red Data List, and are incredibly scarce in this part of the Waterberg region. Once the tunnel was complete, Vulpro released two Veraux’s eagles (a breeding pair), into these enclosures for monitoring and acclimation prior to releasing the eagles onto the greater property.

The Bio-Diversitree team has cleared over 235 ha of alien and invasive plants across Dabchick Wildlife Reserve. The most prominent problem plants were Lantana, Bankrot Bos and Pompom Weeds, all of which are very damaging to South Africa’s natural habitats due to their rapid proliferation and hardy characteristics which allow them to outcompete the important native plant species of the area.

Our team constructed a special enclosure for a Blue Crane breeding project on Dabchick Wildlife Reserve. The perfect location, size and habitat had to be established for this assignment. The fence (type, height, electrification etc.), access and special rock watering holes were all carefully planned and constructed to create a suitable enclosure where the birds would be safe and have the most optimal breeding environment.
